In case you can't tell, I'm a certain oddly colored amphibian. I have a main name I go on on WPH at this point (*wal_pinkfroggi*), and I am one of the leaders of WAL. I am a musician (flute/piccolo), and I make babies with Ash. I am currently in college, but as most of my classes are a waste of time and I actually go, I get quite bored. Any other questions, feel free to ask:-)

Actually, the flute is the hardest instrument to learn. We have several different octaves, different techniques, and its harder to control pitch than with, say, a trumpet. But other than that, it sounds really pretty.

I heard that there is alot of blowing involved, so Monkey should like the flute.

Trumpets control pitch via their lips whereas flutes control their pitch via the direction of their air flow and how fast you are blowing. Flutes have several octaves but rarely play in the high of highs [unless you are playing a Sousa march] or the low of lows. In an average trumpet piece, they play a little above the staff and a little below --- usually notes within the staff.
Clarinets. Well, they play all over the place, even though the high high notes are terribly horrible to your ears.

I agree about clarinets. But oboes are worse. Or worse yet: my other instrument:PICCOLO. Now they can rarely be tuned to sound audible instead of screechy. But I was in the highs all the time in HS band and it wasn't just marches. I had 1812 Overture, and a few others.
